Recycled paper products made with the following post-consumer recycle contents when available. Office paper a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled content. Glossy printed material 10% post-consumer recycled content. Office supplies are only ordered as needed or donated to School House Supplies when no longer needed. Each department in the hotel has a comprehensive sort station with co-mingle, composting, bottles/glass & trash. Individual garbage cans have been eliminated from each persons desk space. The hotel is proud to be 100% smoke free. Our active recycling program allows for all groups, guests, employees and vendors to participate. Our hotel recycling program includes aluminum, plastic, steel, glass, cardboard, mixed paper, hangers, toner cartridges and batteriesPackaging has been reduced by utilizing reusable vs. disposable goods, purchasing food, beverages and supplies in bulk whenever possible and requiring vendors to take back pallets and crates. Paperless communications between all internal and external departments.
The hotel utilizes environmentally responsible cleaners (MSDS Health Hazard Rating 1 or less) throughout the property. The hotel purchase from local vendors first. Buying in bulk versus individual packaging. The hotel purchases products, when available, that contain recycled contents, bio-based materials, energy efficient, water efficient and/or are environmentally preferable.
Energy efficient lighting throughout the hotel. The hotel offers a reuse option for linen, towels and sheets for multiple night stays. The hotel uses water conserving fixtures including sensor controlled faucets and toilets in the public restrooms. Sleep modes enabled on all in-house computers. The Housekeeping and Engineering departments utilize an active system to detect and repair leaking toilets, faucets and shower heads.
In house green team with a line level employee from each department as active members. Green Guru program that replaced "employee of the month" showing our commitment to making sustainability our culture. Training begins at day 1 with a portion of the new hire orientation dedicated to sustainability training.
